5. Prepare your FAF and owner conversation
Lesson 5 of 5 · A Capital Strategy for Successful Business Owners
5. Prepare your FAF and owner conversation
Gather household and business cash flow, debt schedules, operating and tax reserves, retirement balances, existing coverage, and your ownership or succession plans. Use the FAF to explain both your business priorities and your personal financial goals.
Tell us what you want capital to do: support opportunities, create personal liquidity, improve retirement flexibility, or protect the business and family. We can then evaluate options and decide what needs further analysis with your tax and legal team.
Ask: What funding is sustainable if owner distributions fall? Which person or entity should own a proposed policy? What alternatives are less costly? What are the worst-case consequences? Completing the FAF is an assessment step, not a commitment to purchase.
Complete your Financial Assessment Form (FAF)
On the FAF, enter the podcast or person’s name under “How did you hear about us/who referred you?” Include the course you completed. The FAF opens on Zoho Forms and requests financial information; provide it there rather than in course exercises.
