5. Start your tax exposure assessment now

Lesson 5 of 5 · Retirement Assets and the Tax Time Bomb

5. Start your tax exposure assessment now

Gather your most recent tax return, retirement balances and any after-tax basis, expected pension and Social Security income, retirement date, spending needs, and money available outside retirement accounts. Use these to complete the FAF. Do not provide Social Security numbers or account numbers.

We can help organize the financial picture, identify options to investigate, and coordinate a discussion with qualified tax professionals. The useful next deliverable is a comparison: continue the current course, make planned withdrawals or conversions, and consider suitable complementary strategies. Compare taxes, after-tax income, liquidity, costs, and adverse outcomes.

If you want to consider a 2026 transaction, start the assessment now so the decision can be reviewed before applicable deadlines. There is no promise that acting today will save tax. There is a practical reason to give yourself time to evaluate and implement a sound plan.

Your next step: Complete the FAF and tell us that retirement tax exposure is your priority. You retain the decision about whether to proceed.

Complete your Financial Assessment Form (FAF)

On the FAF, enter the podcast or person’s name under “How did you hear about us/who referred you?” Include the course you completed. The FAF opens on Zoho Forms and requests financial information; provide it there rather than in course exercises.
